WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Cape Cod Cafe first opened its doors in 1939 on Route 28 in Brockton—the original road to Cape Cod. In 1947, after returning home from serving in World War II, E. James “Papa” Jamoulis purchased the restaurant with a simple goal: serve hardworking people a great meal after a long day.
Working between the kitchen and the bar, Papa perfected what would become the original Brockton bar pizza—a thin, 10-inch pizza made with freshly proofed dough, homemade oregano-based sauce, a signature blend of cheddar cheeses, and baked in a deck oven. Long before anyone called it “South Shore Bar Pizza,” it was simply the best pizza in town.
A family legacy
In the late 1970s, Jim and Lynne Jamoulis carried Papa’s vision into the next generation, growing Cape Cod Cafe into a hometown institution while expanding the menu to include sandwiches, homemade soups, and the Greek salad that’s become a local favorite.

THREE GENERATIONS OF TRADITION
Today, Jonathan and Jeremy Jamoulis proudly continue the family tradition. From introducing frozen pizzas in 2011 to adding new menu favorites, they’ve embraced new ideas without ever changing what matters most: making every bar pizza the same way Papa did—with quality ingredients, hard work, and no shortcuts.
PROUDLY MADE IN BROCKTON
Why is it called Cape Cod Cafe if it’s in Brockton? When the restaurant opened in 1939, it earned its name from its location on Route 28—the original highway families traveled to reach Cape Cod. Our iconic logo was designed to resemble the roadside signs that pointed travelers toward the Cape.

While our name pays tribute to the journey, our roots have always been firmly planted in Brockton. It’s here that bar pizza became a local tradition, where factory workers gathered after long shifts to enjoy a cold drink, good company, and a delicious pizza. More than 80 years later, we’re proud to carry on that same Brockton tradition, one bar pizza at a time.
HONORING TRADITION
In 2022, the Jamoulis family proudly became the next stewards of another Brockton icon: The Italian Kitchen. Since 1952, generations of the Tosches family built a reputation for homemade meatballs, sausages, famous red sauce, and authentic Italian specialties that became staples throughout the community.

Today, we’re honored to carry on the traditions established by the Tosches family while preserving the recipes, quality, and hometown spirit that made The Italian Kitchen a Brockton institution. It’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly—and one we’re proud to continue for generations to come.
