Discover frequently asked questions about our frozen pizzas and restaurant experiences. FAQs Are there allergens in your pizzas? Wheat and dairy are only allergens in a standard cheese pizza. Of course, cross contamination can occur so please alert us to any food allergies. What is the difference between gluten free and gluten friendly? We have gluten free dough however it is not prepared in a gluten free environment. Cross contamination can occur. Due to insurance reasons, we call our product gluten “friendly”. Our gluten friendly dough is rice based and it does contain eggs. Please alert us to any allergies at the time of your order Is your feta cheese pasteurized? Yes Do you deliver? We are available for delivery through DoorDash. You can order takeout here . Do you ship frozen pizzas? Yes! Through goldbelly.com The frozen pizzas do not taste the same as the fresh ones. Why? Of course they don’t, they are frozen! Our frozen pizzas are made the same way as our fresh ones. The only difference is, we freeze them. My frozen pizza does not cook right according to directions. Why? Unfortunately ovens and cooking times vary along with people’s personal preference to how they like their pizza. Our instructions are based off validated cooking times and temps using various ovens and grills under USDA guidelines. Send us and email and we would be happy to help you cook the best frozen pizza you have ever had. Why are you called Cape Cod Café if you are not on Cape Cod? Back in the 1930’s we were located on Route 28 and there was no Route 495 so people would have to drive through Brockton to get to the Cape. Many Brockton businesses back then had the word “Cape” in their name but unfortunately, very few remain. Your satellite locations are different than the original. Why? This is our biggest challenge with having multiple locations and we do everything possible to make sure every location is the same. All dough, sauce, cheese, veggies, and other items are made fresh by the same person for all locations daily. They are then distributed daily to all locations to ensure consistency. We cannot however recreate an atmosphere and for many people, a different atmosphere can change the way things taste to them. Consistency is of our utmost importance, so if we are not meeting your expectations, please let us know. Is it true your Brockton location is haunted? We can neither confirm nor deny. many have experienced odd things and over a hundred years ago the Brockton location was a funeral home. People have seen apparitions, things have moved, fallen, and broken. We can confirm that the “crying baby” story is false though.

- Brockton’s Cape Cod Cafe inducted into Pizza Hall of Fame
BROCKTON – The Cape Cod Cafe recently joined nine other pizzerias from across the northeastern United States to be inducted into the Pizza Hall of Fame... Brockton’s Cape Cod Cafe inducted into Pizza Hall of Fame 6/16/15, 12:00 PM BROCKTON — When Cape Cod Cafe self-describes themselves as serving Brockton’s best pizza, they aren’t kidding around. Whether ordering takeout after a long day of work or sitting down for a slice and a beer on a Friday night, South Shore bar pizza is a fiercely loved food among our readers, and they certainly have opinions on where to get it. In an online poll conducted by The Enterprise, 44,258 votes were cast on where to get the best bar pizza in the Brockton area. Out of 16 well-loved restaurants, Cape Cod Cafe, located at 979 Main St. in Brockton, took the lead with 15,223 votes or 34.40%. Tinray’s, located at 9 Winter St. in Brockton, was a close second with 14,463 votes or 32.68%. Here’s why Brockton area residents say Cape Cod Cafe is the place to go. What makes Cape Cod Cafe’s bar pizza so good For Cape Cod Cafe co-owner Jonathan Jamoulis, making bar pizza is in his blood. “We’ve been doing it a long time,” said Jamoulis. “We’re third generation. It’s what we grew up doing. We have a lot of experience, and we have people who have been with us a long time.” Jonathan’s grandfather E. James “Papa” Jamoulis bought what is now Cape Cod Cafe back in 1947. Three-generations later, Jamoulis’ grandsons, Jonathan and Jeremy, are keeping their grandfather’s long perfected bar pizza recipe alive, and for good reason. Can’t decide between pizza and a burger? Head to Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton for ‘the Ando’ When asked what makes Cape Cod Cafe’s bar pizza unique, Jamoulis said it’s all about high-quality ingredients and consistency. “One person makes the dough so it’s consistent. One person blends the sauce,” said Jamoulis. “So, consistency and high-quality ingredients make our pizza stand out.” The bar pizzas are made in a 10-inch seasoned pan with thin, freshly proofed dough, homemade oregano-based sauce and a blend of cheddar cheeses baked in a deck oven. “The technique is as old as the pizza itself,” Jamoulis said on how the bar pizza is cooked. “It’s done in a deck oven with an old pan. Cooked the old-fashioned way. It’s slow baked, which gives it the nice crispy crust and bubbly cheese on top,” he said. “It comes out so good.” A close second: Tinray’s Less than a thousand votes behind Cape Cod Cafe, Tinray’s took second place in the poll, and the two jockeyed back and forth at times for the top spot. “We put a lot of heart and soul into our work here. Everyone’s been here almost 25 years,” said owner Joe Murray. “People really seem to like it,” he said of their bar pizza. “I’ve got people coming in from all over the country to try it.” Original Article: https://www.enterprisenews.com/story/entertainment/dining/restaurant-reviews/2024/07/31/brockton-ma-best-bar-pizza-cape-cod-cafe-main-street-tinrays-winter/74599128007/?utm_source=theenterprise-daily-briefing-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=dailybriefing&utm_term=hero&utm_content=nent-brockton-nletter65 Previous Next
- Local News Port strike in Boston has some Massachusetts businesses on edge
BOSTON – About 25,000 dock workers at 14 ports from Massachusetts to Texas went on strike early Tuesday morning. The dockworkers want better pay and less automation. Local News Port strike in Boston has some Massachusetts businesses on edge 10/1/24, 12:00 PM BOSTON – About 25,000 dock workers at 14 ports from Massachusetts to Texas went on strike early Tuesday morning. The dockworkers want better pay and less automation. Conley Terminal, the main cargo port in South Boston, is now shut down and that will have an impact on local businesses. The merchandise in Neal Wigetman’s store, Basics Carpet and Furniture in Allston, comes from a container on a cargo ship. Those ships travel to ports in Boston, New York, or New Jersey, then the cargo is sent to a supplier who trucks the pieces to the showroom. “It’s all coming from overseas. None of it is made here anymore,” said Wigetman who has owned the furniture store for more than 40 years. “We deal with a mattress person, we deal with a sofa person, we’ll deal with a five-drawer chest person.” Port strike begins The strike by dockworkers threatens to disrupt not just Neal’s supply chain but the U.S. economy. The contract for the International Longshoremen’s Association, the union representing thousands of dock workers who unload cargo ships at ports up and down the East and Gulf Coasts, expired Monday night. The union is asking the United States Maritime Alliance for better wages and a full ban on automation at U.S. ports. There are only 160 dockworkers in Boston, but the strike is expected to affect about 12,000 jobs in the area, including tugboat and truck drivers and delivery workers. “If they keep putting machinery to take our jobs, who’s going to pay the income tax. Machines are not,” ILA President Harold Daggett said. Wigetman says he has a full inventory and could weather the supply disruptions that could come with a short strike. But not everyone is so lucky. “Most places of business would be in trouble like a month and a half later,” he told WBZ-TV. Port strike impact Jeremy Jamoulis, the CEO of local restaurant chain Cape Cod Cafe, says he is also preparing for the downstream impact of a strike. His restaurants receive Italian meats, cheeses, olive oils, olives, and paper products through various ports. “If this goes on more than a couple weeks, we’re going to have to start buying into things, the prices will go up,” Jamoulis said. In the event of a strike, Wigetman says he will still buy furniture to stock up his store. “You can’t run a business with fear. You have to just go with the flow and keep on going,” he said. - Cape Cod Café | Pizza Hall of Fame | Celebrating America’s oldest and most popular pizzerias!
THIS CASUAL CONCEPT IS ONE OF THE FEW REMAINING ORIGINAL PURVEYORS OF OLD-SCHOOL BAR PIES IN EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. Cape Cod Café | Pizza Hall of Fame | Celebrating America’s oldest and most popular pizzerias! 4/1/14, 12:00 PM THIS CASUAL CONCEPT IS ONE OF THE FEW REMAINING ORIGINAL PURVEYORS OF OLD-SCHOOL BAR PIES IN EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. With a son on the way and a desire to open his own business, World War II veteran E. James Jamoulis bought the Cape Cod Café in Brockton, Massachusetts, in 1947. The bar, like others in the area, served “bar pies,” 10” pizzas cooked in a pan. Today, according to third-generation owner Jeremy Jamoulis, who took over the business with brother Jonathan, Cape Cod is one of only two bar pie sellers left from the pies’ heyday in the ’50s. More than 65 years after opening, the business is still known for its original offering: pizza. “We take pride in the fact that the recipe is the same as it was in the early days,” Jeremy says. Second-generation owners James and Lynn Jamoulis were responsible for turning the bar into a full-fledged family restaurant; over the years, menu additions have included salads and sandwiches in the ’70s, homemade soups and chowders in the ’80s and calzones in the ’90s. “But our main focus has always been our famous pizza,” Jeremy notes. Cape Cod Café owners have always relied on word-of-mouth to spread awareness of the business, but they also take an active part in the community, with frequent donations to local churches, schools and charities (they even give out two scholarships every year). Meanwhile, specials that counteract the economy, such as the “Family Stimulus Package” (three cheese pizzas, a large Greek salad and a two-liter soda for $19.99) have experienced smashing success during competitive times. These principles have allowed the business to expand into two additional locations, in nearby Raynham and Bridgewater. “I think the biggest success—and challenge—is being able to stay in business for so many years,” reflects Jeremy. “There will always be good and bad economic times, but as long as you serve a great product at a good price, people will keep coming back.” — Tracy Morin Source: https://pizzahalloffame.com/cape-cod-cafe/ Previous Next
- Made in Massachusetts: Cape Cod Cafe’s frozen bar pizzas

Made in Massachusetts: Cape Cod Cafe’s frozen bar pizzas 9/20/21, 12:00 PM BROCKTON, Mass. — Bar pizza is a specialty of the Massachusetts’ South Shore, but a restaurant that boasts it was the first is distributing its pies throughout several states. “We didn’t set out to make a frozen pizza. We made a pizza and froze it,” said Jonathan Jamoulis, the third-generation owner and operator of the Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton. His grandfather bought the popular local eatery in 1947, which has been serving up bar pizza for more than 70 years. “It’s a 10-inch pizza. Sauce and cheese go all the way to the edge. Nice crispy crust, thin, it’s delicious,” Jamoulis said. The sauce is a family secret. Jamoulis said he, his brother and his father are the only ones who know the recipe. About 10 years ago, the family decided to expand their pizza operation beyond the restaurant and move into the frozen food market. A mass-production facility was built across the street from the restaurant. Inside, cooks and machines work in a rhythm, forming the dough, ladling sauce, sprinkling cheese and sending pizzas through an oven for precisely 5 minutes and 15 seconds. Now, Cape Cod Cafe’s frozen pies are in high demand online and can be found in about 70% of grocery stores throughout New England and upstate New York. “We get requests for Florida, California, Colorado. We ship nationally. So … we’re shipping everywhere,” Jamoulis said. Wondering why a company based in Brockton, 45 miles to the bridges, is named after the Cape? “Way back when, in the ’30s, Route 28 which goes through Brockton, which goes through Main Street, was the original way to get to the Cape. So, people coming from Boston had to go through Brockton to get to Cape Cod,” Jamoulis said. Knight stopped by both Cape Cod Cafe and the Italian Kitchen Tuesday. He’s is in the area to host a fundraiser for Journey Forward, a Canton-based charity that works with people who’ve suffered spinal cord injuries. And for those wondering: No, the Cod did not prepare a special porkchop and applesauce pizza. For the record, Knight sampled two pies: one a half linguica, half pepper and onion, the other a half cheese, half pepperoni. “It was brought up,” said Jonathan Jamoulis, one of two brothers who own the Cod and the Italian Kitchen. “[We decided] Just leave the guy alone.” Christopher Knight was a child actor as “Peter Brady” in the TV classic hit show The Brady Bunch visited Cape Cod Cafe Pizza in Brockton on May, 2, 2023.Arguably Peter’s best-known scene on “The Brady Bunch” was channeling Humphrey Bogart to say what’s for dinner: “Porkchops and applesauce.” What is Journey Forward in Canton, MA? Journey Forward in Canton is a gym and program designed to help paralyzed people. If you’ve had a spinal cord injury, for instance, it offers intense exercise programs that aim to restore mobility if possible and at a minimum provide the benefits of exercise, according to the nonprofit organization’s website. “We work with paralyzed clients of all levels and abilities providing a very active and full body approach to recovery,” Journey Forward’s description of itself reads. “This is what separates Journey Forward from many other adaptive gyms.” Why does Christopher Knight work with Journey Forward? For years, Knight hosted Journey Forward’s “Casino Night” fundraiser. This year’s event is Thursday at King’s bowling alley in Dedham. “I was drawn to it,” said Knight, 65. “It was planted in front of me and it spoke to me.” Knight said it’s not the only charity he gives time to, but it’s the only one he gives time to consistently. “There are so many benefits to it,” Knight said of Journey Forward. Insurance does not pay for the intensive exercise program. It leverages million-dollar plus exercise equipment. Knight’s wife, Cara, told of being impressed by seeing a patient able to move with the help of one such machine and see his own strides and rebuild neural pathways. Christopher Knight played Peter Brady in the 1970s: What else has he done? Knight has “starred in a ‘bunch’ of TV shows and movies,” to quote his punny Instagram bio. He’s best known for playing Peter Brady, the middle son on “The Brady Bunch.” The iconic series ran from 1969 to 1974, and Knight appeared in 117 episodes, according to IDMB.com . His production company will release a documentary this fall about Callie Truelove, a young woman with Williams syndrome. The chromosomal disorder poses great challenges to her, but also gives her a kind of superpower to connect with people. Outside of movies and TV, Knight has a furniture brand, Christopher Knight Home. You might have seen his furniture in an “accidental product placement” when Oprah sat the duke and duchess of Sussex in chairs from his line for her famous interview with the couple. Knight is good-natured when folks want to talk about his most famous role. He said the enduring appeal of the show about what we’d today call a “blended family” is that kids like watching kids and learning “Where do I fit?” in their families. He said the show’s best demographic now on reruns and streaming is probably ages 4-9. And it’s huge in Australia. The short history of Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton Knight got a chance Tuesday to learn all about “bar pizza,” a category he said he hadn’t heard of before his visit to Brockton. Cape Cod Cafe not only slings a lot of the pies out of their restaurant, but they also sell frozen versions at grocery stores in the region. The short history of the Italian Kitchen of Brockton The Italian Kitchen is an iconic Brockton restaurant. The Jamoulis brothers bought it from the Tosches family last year. The staff has stayed largely the same across its 60-plus year history, as has the recipe for its famous meatballs.
